BJP MP Gautam Gambhir: Donates His Salary For upgradation of Cremation Grounds.

Decision

Former cricketer and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir, who has earned praise for his good activities in past has now donated his salary as a parliamentarian to upgrade the cremations grounds in East Delhi.

BJP MP Gautam Gambhir took to Twitter to announce his decision.

Gautam Gambhir said ''Politics for me is a way to help the people of my city. My efforts will be to ensure that every penny I make as an MP will be used to better the lives of my constituents. That's why I commit my salary to upgrade the cremation grounds with better facilities in East Delhi,''

Work

According to reports, work has already started to upgrade and improve facilities at the largest cremation ground in East Delhi - located in Geeta Colony.

Gautam Gambhir aims to repair the sanitation system in the cremation grounds, build new sheds, improve water connectivity and create new platforms.

Not only that, but the Gautam Gambhir has also taken measures to work towards concerned departments during the monsoon to avoid diseases, traffic, waterlogging and so on. 

Cricket career

Gautam Gambhir represented India from 2003-2018. He played a total of 242 international matches and scored 10,324 runs in all.

As a political career

Gautam Gambhir, who was elected as BJP MP from the East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency in the recently concluded 2019 polls. He is also well known for his fearless batting. 

He joined the BJP in 2019 and he was party's candidate from the East Delhi seat.
