Hafiz Saeed: Mumbai terror Attacks Mastermind Arrested in lahor.
Mumbai 26/11 terror attack mastermind and Jamat ud Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed arrested on terror finance charges and sent to jail in Lahore.
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Pakistan's Punjab Police arrested Hafiz Saeed from Lahore when he was on his way to Gujranwala. Officials said that he has been sent to the high-security Kot Lakhpat Jail and will face trial in Lahore.
The Punjab province spokesman said that "The main charge is that he is gathering funds for banned outfits, which is illegal,"
Hafiz Saeed, the founder of the terror outfit called Lashkar-e-Taiba has been blamed for the terror attack on 26/11 Mumbai on November 26, 2008, in which 166 people were killed.
The Pakistani government had also recently arrested the Jamat ud Dawa‘s (JuD) second-in-command Abdul Rehman Makki, who is brother-in-law of Hafiz Saeed, on the charges of making a public speech and terror financing charges.
The action comes days before Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's visit to Washington, where he will hold talks with US President Donald Trump.

Columnist Mohammad Taqi tweeted, "Found?? The man had been leading prayers in the largest cricket stadium of the country for years & riding horses to the national monument in Lahore, Pakistan.”
Pakistan counter-terrorism department said that funds collected by Hafiz Saeed and his accomplices through trusts were used to finance the Lashkar-e-Taiba, which carried out terror strikes including the 2008 26/11 Mumbai attack in India.
Action against Hafiz Saeed followed pressure from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), which placed Pakistan on its "grey list" of countries over terrorism financing and money laundering.
In June this year, The Financial Action Task Force FATF gave Pakistan a deadline of October this year to prove that it has improved its efforts to stop counter-terror financing which the country would be facing sanctions.
Hafiz Saeed is an UN-designated a global terrorist, since 2012. Also, he is the founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba. The US has announced a $10 million rewards for information leading to Hafiz Saeed's conviction over the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
